Tagged!

After finally being tagged by BEVIS here is a MEME:
1. First blog you ever read?
The Cos. My old amigo- radio, web dev, nerdy assistant and tolerator of my various antics. He started blogging- or more of a journal- long before "web" and "log" were married in an exclusive Wired/Slashdot photo shoot spread (anticipating the "at home with the blogs" special)

I still read his journal (less often) but have his Monkey Puzzle blog as an rss feed (as well as BEVIS and others). So there's that.

2. What inspired you to start your own?

I just thought it was about time. I had a few articles published here and there- the Age nerd section, a few bits in bike mags, letters and so on and thought I would continue my writings here. As it happens I have done a lot more paid writing and therefore less blogging...

3.The best and worst about blogging?

Best- People you don't expect to read it do read it. This is also the worst. But It's nice when you start some amusing anecdote at a party to have people cut across you and say "yeah, we know, we read it and frankly it wasn't funny there either" Screw yew.

Worst- Keeping up to date. I wish I could blog mobile more often and do a better job. I am CONSTANTLY seeing things blog worthy and don't bother. Anonymity is not an issue. I have long since decided I couldn't give a tinker's cuss what prospective employers, friends, ex's at al think of me. Don't like it? I care not for you.

Also, I must ad- I have another FAR more popular anonymous blog. And that's all I have to say about that.

4. Who was the first person to comment on your blog? Troll your archives and find out.

Crap. I didn't have comments for a long time, and frankly I think I jump onto comments too quickly. Nowadays I get sweet FA. No idea why. Perhaps I suck. The stats say I get 40 people reading each post. Whoopee. No one comments. I don't call for them nor does my blog exist for others to comment on.

Ok, I think it was Donny.

5. What has been your most popular blog entry?

Two of my unpublished motorcycle "puff pieces". the first was rejected as a publishable piece and the other was not for commercail publication anywaysies. I don't think there are any comments on either one, but I've met motorcyclists who have read them both and they have been reposted (without permission- don't care) on motorcycle boards worldwide:

To my car driving brethren

To my stupid motorcycling brethren

6. If I re-named my blog I would call it ...

Grow Up Idiot

7. If my blog had a theme song it would be ...

"Rocking Is My Business" the Four Horsemen...

"Daddy said 'Son, do what should'
Rocking is ma business...
Business is good!

[spoken] Yeah, well, if it's so good why am I always fuckin' broke...?"

8. If my blog was a room it would look like ...

An 30 something teenager's bedroom. Boy's toys, girly mags and self help books about denial.

9. Five bloggers I would like to have over for dinner.

Well... BEVIS, Ms Fits, A Man Of Lettuce, Dawei and The Cos

10. Two bloggers you would like to set up on a blind date.

Dawei and Tim Blair. I get to watch though.

11. Somebody I wish had a blog?

My brother Stephen. I have been doing his blog for him for two frickin years and he simply doesn't get it.

I have recently set him up on blogger AGAIN to do it and I hope he finally does take it on himself. Grrrrr.

12. If you were only allowed to read one blog ever again, which blog would it be?

Yoish! What a question. Am fully dodging it. I like them all.

Ok, mine. It's a record for myself, my kiddies and grand kiddies.

13. Is there a fellow blogger you would like to snog / shag / do rude things to? Feel free to name names if you're game.

Ahhh Clem, Dawei, La Nadine, and ummm Pamela Anderson?

14. Discover a blog. Link to a blog that you have recently found, or a blog you have been reading for a while and haven't blogrolled.

I use bloglines so I have a fair list. My blogroll is a dud, but here:

Excellent work, Thomasr (as I like to call you). I'm honoured to be invited to your dinner party. I hope you didn't feel obligated! :)

Was that your first tag? If so, I'm glad I could lend a hand.

I have one question, though. It's about your anonymous blog: Have I ever visited it / left a comment there?

Cheers. Good work again on the meme.

Interesting ...

... if a bit cryptic. I guess I'm not going to work it out if I haven't been there. I'll keep an eye out, though ...

Hi Thomas,

Are you the same Thomas Reynolds who used to have a show on 3MU? As my name suggests, I was once part of Grover Jones and the Art of Siegecraft; if you are who I believe you are, then we played on your show when you had some crazy Japanese chick watching.

(And I ride a Triumph Sprint RS.)
