FIRE UP!

Guest post from Miss Rachel who, along with Kat R went to the Industrial Relations Rally in Melbourne today. This is her official report into the FIREMAN there..

You can hire this truck....wonder if the firemen are included in the price?

Strong firemen carrying their fireman sign.

Lots of people....were most of them men?

Strong, fine firemen....oh and Beazley

Beazley is there, but Mr Fireman is watching....ahhh!

I like the beach ball atmosphere...

What is the collective noun for firemen? A Hunk of Firemen seems to fit.

World Cup wrap up

Well, we bloody did it- to the round of 16 we go.

I got up at sparrow's with Miss Waysell, to be joined by Kat and, eventually, Kristina (she's German, so it was a fair effort to get up and watch- or perhaps she didn't want to be left out of water cooler chat...)

Anywaysies, one might be tempted to gloat and ponder the possibility of us actually beating Italy, but instead I'd like to shine the spotlight of failure on the USA's team:

They are packing their bags as we speak. I believe that the term I am looking for is "lassen Sie die Tür Sie im Esel nicht schlagen", rough translation of "don't let the door hit you in the ass"

Why the anger thomasr?

Ok, that's a fair call, I have just been there, my brother has married an American. So this might seem a bit tough eh?

NO IT'S NOT. THEIR COACH DISSED US AND THIS IS KARMA, BABY.

From the SMH.com.au before the World Cup:

(US Coach Bruce) Arena, whose team has achieved a FIFA world ranking of eight due largely to a system widely regarded as flawed, told Sports Illustrated's website: "The last time around [in the World Cup], the easy games were China and Saudi Arabia. This time around you'd probably say Australia and Trinidad & Tobago are the weak ones."

Arena seemed to grudgingly concede Australia and Trinidad & Tobago had some claims to being there, adding: "But Australia has basically all of its players in Europe, and Trinidad have a guy [in Yorke] who was arguably the top striker in soccer."

HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW BRUCE! USA go home with:

HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?

Mash me up!

Though a relative babe in the woods, I'm quite proud of my first ever mash up release- using Madonna's "Hung Up" and Cut Copy's "Future". I did it (old school style) using Sonic Foundry's "Acid" and "Sound Forge".

Here's the link- enjoy it before the cease and desist arrives!!

If you have to ask how much...

"This is an important moment for us, another dream come true. Producing the Desmosedici RR means offering the ultimate expression of Ducati technology, while remaining faithful to the tradition of every one of our road and racing bikes,"
